Journalist Laura is a blog I’m writing about my endeavors in journalism and all things media. After graduating with a bachelor’s in print journalism, then working for The Palm Beach Post for a few years, I decided to go back to school and get a master’s degree. In May I earned a master of mass communication degree from the University of Florida. I’m very proud to be a Gator alumna!
Right now I work part time as a medical writer at the University of Florida’s Health Science Center Office of News and Communications (super long name, I know!). I’m also looking for freelance opportunities and/or another part-time job.
I like to write about all kinds of topics: education, food and wine, international issues, humanitarian stuff. And I’m working on developing my social media and multi-media skills. I recently started Twittering and I’m brainstorming about some ideas for another blog – one that I will maintain more regularly.
